Ordering catering

Food for an event, booked for a date and a number of guests, and paid at checkout.

A restaurant's page → Catering

Finding catering

On the restaurant list, tick Offers catering under Availability; restaurants that take catering carry a Catering badge on their card. On a restaurant's page the Catering tab jumps to its Catering section, which shows:

  • the restaurant's intro line and three facts — how far ahead to book, the guest range, and that payment is taken at checkout;
  • its catering dishes, each with its price and unit ("per tray · serves 10", "per guest") and, where there is one, the smallest quantity ("Min 10");
  • Start a catering order, which scrolls to the dishes, or Review catering order once your basket holds some.

The catering basket

Add puts the dish in the basket at its catering price and at least its smallest quantity. The basket shows a green Catering order banner. A catering order is its own order: adding a regular dish (or a dish from another restaurant) asks before it clears the basket, and so does the reverse.

Checkout

Checkout is the usual three steps, with Your event in place of "When":

FieldWhat to enter
Delivery / PickupOnly the handovers the restaurant offers for catering.
Event dateThe calendar starts at the restaurant's booking notice and skips days it is closed.
Serve atA time inside the restaurant's hours on that day.
GuestsWithin the restaurant's range.
Event typeOffice, wedding, birthday, party or other event.
Set up the food at the eventA request to the restaurant; no fee is added.

Then the normal totals and payment methods — the whole order is paid now, like any other order. If something no longer fits (too little notice, guests outside the range, below the catering minimum, a dish no longer offered for catering) the checkout says exactly what and keeps what you typed.

After ordering

The confirmation email and the tracking page show the event: date and time, type, guests and set-up. Account → Orders marks the order Catering with its event time. A day before, you get a reminder.
