Catering

Large orders booked for a date and a headcount — office lunches, weddings, birthdays — from the dishes you choose, at their own catering prices, paid in full at checkout like any order.

Settings → Catering · Menu → a dish → Catering · Orders

How it fits together

  1. Settings → Catering switches catering on for your restaurant and sets the booking rules: how far ahead a guest must book, the guest range, a catering minimum, when the kitchen sees the order, and whether it is delivered, collected or both.
  2. Each dish you want to offer gets a catering price and a unit — per tray (serving a number of people) or per guest — in the dish's Catering block.
  3. Your restaurant page shows a Catering section and tab with those dishes. A guest adds them, books the event at checkout and pays with your normal payment methods.
  4. The order lands in Orders with its event, reaches the kitchen display a set number of hours before the event, and both you and the guest are reminded the day before.
Two switches. The platform's Catering service (Settings → Services, operator) must be on for any of this to appear; your own switch in Settings → Catering decides whether your restaurant takes it.

ControlWhat it does
Take catering orders (switch in the card head)Shows or hides the Catering section on your restaurant page. Off by default.
Intro lineOne sentence under the section heading (up to 300 characters). Leave it empty for the standard line.
Booking notice (hours)The earliest event a guest can book, counted from now. 48 = two days. The checkout's calendar and time slots never offer anything sooner.
Fewest guests / Most guestsThe guest range a booking must fall in (1–5000). The page shows it as "10–300 guests".
Minimum catering orderThe smallest catering basket, before delivery and tax. 0 = none. Your normal minimum order still applies to pickup and delivery.
Kitchen sees it (hours before)When the order appears on the kitchen display: the event time less these hours (0–72).
Handover: Delivery / PickupHow catering is handed over. At least one stays on. Delivery shows only when your restaurant delivers.

Press Save. The change is written to the audit log.

Offering a dish for catering

Open Menu, edit a dish, and use the Catering block at the top of the side column:

FieldWhat it does
Offer for cateringPuts the dish in the Catering section. Needs a catering price above zero.
Catering priceThe price of one unit for catering — its own price, because a tray for ten is not ten plates.
SoldPer tray or Per guest.
One tray servesTrays only: shown to the guest as "per tray · serves 10".
Fewest per orderThe smallest quantity a basket may take (for example 10 for a per-guest dish). The basket never goes below it.

In the menu list, catering dishes carry a green Catering chip, and the Catering filter shows only them. The menu export adds a Catering price column, and importing a file with that column offers those dishes for catering at that price.

Stock and availability still count. A dish that is switched off, sold out or hidden by stock disappears from the Catering section too.

Catering orders

A catering order is a normal order with an event attached — the same statuses, refunds, receipts and payments. What is different:

  • Orders list: a green Catering · 40 guests chip and the event time on the row. The Kind filter shows Catering (all) or Upcoming catering (events still ahead, not delivered or cancelled).
  • Order page: a Catering line under the event time — event type, guests and "Set-up requested" when the guest asked you to set the food out.
  • Kitchen display: the ticket stays off the board until its fire time (the event less your "Kitchen sees it" hours), then arrives with the event line.
  • Reminders: a day before the event you and the guest get a bell notification and a Catering tomorrow email.

When it doesn't work

The Catering section does not show on my page

It needs the platform service on, your switch on, and at least one dish offered for catering that is on sale. An unclaimed listing never shows it.

A guest says no times are offered

The calendar starts at your booking notice and only offers slots inside your opening hours. Check both, and that orders are not paused.
