What you collected, how it arrived, and the two clocks that tell you when.

Collected, not ordered

Every money figure on this page is collected revenue, net of refunds — what actually reached you. It is not the face value of orders placed, and the difference is deliberate: an order that was placed, cancelled and refunded should not appear as income.

One chart shows both lines together, precisely so you can see the gap.

The figures

FigureMeaning
RevenueCollected in the period, net of refunds.
Items per orderUnits per paid order. The number an upsell should move.
Spend per headPer cover recorded. Meaningful once you set covers at the till.
Discounts givenCoupons and rewards together — what you gave away.
TipsOn paid orders.

The charts

ChartAnswers
Revenue over timeCollected against the value of everything placed, day by day.
Takings by tenderWhich payment methods carry your business.
Revenue by hourWhen in the day money is made.
Order channelsHow orders reached the kitchen — website, kiosk, till, phone.
Service modesHow they leave the building — delivery, pickup, dine-in.
Discount sourcesCoupons, loyalty rewards and till reductions, separated.
The money clockCollected revenue by weekday and hour together.
The money clock is the one to act on. "Busy at seven" and "busy at seven on Fridays" lead to different rotas, different prep and different opening hours. A single by-hour chart averages your quiet Tuesday into your heaving Saturday and hides both.

Discount sources

Three things get called a discount and cost you differently. Splitting them tells you whether your margin is going to coupons you chose, to loyalty you promised, or to reductions given at the till — which is a management question rather than a marketing one. See Reasons.

Range and export

The range switcher covers every chart on the page at once. Export CSV writes the current period, so a month's figures can go to an accountant without retyping.

When it doesn't work

Revenue is lower than my order total

Correct, and expected. Refunds are subtracted and unpaid orders are not counted.

Spend per head is blank

Covers are not being recorded. Set them with Guests at the till.

The tender chart shows one bar

Everything is being taken one way. Common and correct on a delivery-only restaurant.
