Social proof
What guests post about the restaurant, gathered into one queue, and the posts the owner approves shown on the restaurant page under What Our Guests Say.
Restaurant → Quick Social → Social proof
The page has the queue on the left (the posts, three views and a source filter) and three cards on the right: Add a guest's post, Your restaurant page and Sources. Social proof is part of Quick Social: it is there whenever the platform has Quick Social switched on.
Where the posts come from
| Source | What is read | What it needs |
|---|---|---|
| Reviews of your Business Profile, with your reply under each, and the photos and videos guests added to it. | Google Business Profile switched on by the platform (Settings → APIs), and your Google account connected with your listing picked. It is the same connection Import from Google uses. | |
| Tripadvisor | The five newest reviews and the five newest guest photos of your listing, with its rating and number of reviews. Photos the restaurant posted itself are left out. | The platform offers Tripadvisor (Settings → Tools), and you pick your listing in Sources. |
| Recommendations on your Page, and guests' comments on your Page's posts. The Page's own comments are left out. | Facebook connected on Channels. | |
| YouTube | Comments on your channel's videos. | YouTube connected on Channels. |
| Bluesky | Posts that mention your account, replies to it and quotes of it. | Bluesky connected on Channels. |
| A post you paste | A guest's public TikTok, YouTube (Shorts too), X or Bluesky post. | Nothing: see Add a guest's post. |
Instagram is not a source: none of its posts, tags or comments can be read or pasted.
The queue
Three views, each with its count: Waiting (new, not decided yet), On your page and Hidden. The page opens on Waiting when anything is waiting, otherwise on On your page. The source menu beside the views narrows the queue to one source, each listed with its mark and how many posts it has in the current view. 36 posts show per page, with Previous and Next below them.
Each card shows the post as a guest would see it: the photo or video (click it to open it large; a video plays there), the stars, Tripadvisor bubbles or Facebook recommendation, the words, your reply under a Google review, the post a comment was left on, and the guest's name, picture and date. The source's mark in the corner opens the original post. A post you pasted carries a Pasted tag.
| Button | Shown in | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Approve | Waiting, Hidden | Puts the post on your restaurant page. |
| Hide | Waiting, On your page | Moves it to Hidden. A hidden post never shows on the page. |
| Back to waiting | Hidden | Undecides it: it waits again for Approve or Hide. |
| Approve all | Waiting | Puts every waiting post on the page after you confirm. With a source picked in the menu, only that source's posts. |
When a source is read again, a post you already have is updated, never added twice: an edited review shows its new words, and your decision stays as it was.
Add a guest's post
Paste the address of a public TikTok, YouTube, X or Bluesky post about the restaurant and press Add. You chose it, so it goes straight onto On your page. Pasting a post that is already there brings it up to date. A TikTok's picture is kept on your own server, because TikTok's own copy stops working after a while.
| Message | Why |
|---|---|
| That does not look like a post address. | The text is not a web address. |
| Paste a TikTok, YouTube, X or Bluesky post. | The address belongs to another site, Instagram included. |
| That post could not be found. | The post is private or was deleted. |
Your restaurant page
| Switch | What it does |
|---|---|
| Show What Our Guests Say on my page | On by default. Off, the section and its tab leave the restaurant page; the queue keeps everything. |
| Approve 4 and 5 star reviews automatically | Off by default. On, new reviews rated 4 or 5 go on the page without waiting. Everything else still waits for you, and the posts already waiting stay where they are. |
View opens your restaurant page at the section. The two switches are saved with the Save button under Sources.
Sources
One row per source the platform offers, with the account or listing it reads, how many posts the last read gave and when it ran. A source the platform does not offer (a channel switched off, Google Business Profile off, Tripadvisor not offered) is not listed.
| Status | What to do |
|---|---|
| Connected | Nothing. The tick decides whether this source is read: clear it to stop reading the source without disconnecting anything. |
| Error | The last read failed. Point at the red mark for the network's own answer, for example an account that needs signing in again on Channels. The other sources were still read. |
| Not connected | Connect opens Channels (Facebook, YouTube, Bluesky) or the Google sign-in. |
| Pick your listing | Google: Connect opens your Google listings to choose from. Tripadvisor: type the restaurant's name and town in the search box under the row, press Search and pick your listing from the results. |
Save keeps the ticks, the Tripadvisor listing and the two page switches. Refresh reads the sources now, at most once a minute, and says how many new posts arrived and which sources could not be read. Without it, the Read social proof job reads every restaurant's sources again every six hours (Scheduled tasks).
On the restaurant page
The approved posts show as What Our Guests Say, with a Guests tab in the page's menu, in all five page styles and in the visitor's language. Above the posts sit the Google and Tripadvisor ratings with their number of reviews, as the sources last gave them, and pills to show All, Photos, Videos, Reviews or Mentions. The newest 60 posts are there: 12 first, then 12 more with each Load more. The section is left out while the switch is off or nothing is approved yet.
Who may do what
Opening the page takes the Quick Social privilege to open the tool. Approving, hiding, pasting a post and Refresh take the privilege to publish, since they change the public page. The two switches, the sources and the Tripadvisor listing take the privilege to connect accounts. See Staff permissions.
When it doesn't work
Tripadvisor or Google is not in the Sources list
The platform does not offer it. Tripadvisor needs its switch and key under Settings → Tools; Google needs Google Business Profile switched on under Settings → APIs.
No new posts arrive
The scheduler is not running, so only Refresh reads the sources. See Scheduled tasks; the Read social proof job is the one that reads them.
"The sources were read a moment ago"
Refresh runs at most once a minute. Wait a minute and press it again.
The section is not on the restaurant page
Show What Our Guests Say on my page is off, or nothing is on On your page yet.
